I never cease to be amazed at *needtobleed's expertise with the needle gun. This "Rabbit of/in/on the Moon" only goes to further strengthen my personal view that *needtobleed is a master of the art form.

The fine detail and the subtlety of the shading would make a traditional paper and pencil artist supremely proud, but to achieve this result with a canvas of skin and fine, expertly placed points of coloured ink is mind-blowing. Pointillism on a moving canvas. Don't try that at home unless you have the talent that *needtobleed and others of that chosen art-form have.

I am no expert on meso-america, or mayan, incan or aztec art or culture, but the South American influence on this piece of art is unmistakeable, from the highly stylised moon to the stubby rounded toes and "fingers" of Mr (?) Rabbit.

As an aside, I knew nothing of the different cultures treatment of the "fable" of the "Rabbit and the Moon" until I saw this - it has inspired me to find out about this fabled coney and his lunar relationship - I hope it inspires others too.

There are tattoos "MOM" "DAD" "LOVE" "HATE", there are expressions of sentiment fixed in ink (forever?) and then there are masterpieces that stay vibrant even when the canvas grows old. This, I believe, along with other works by all the finer dA tattoo artists in general, and *needtobleed in particular are masterpieces. Every one a Dorian Gray.
